Carmen and Kelly first met almost 20 years ago when they were both on staff at Teach For America. A few years ago, Kelly was coaching several Chiefs of Staff and reached out to Carmen with a little baby idea to bring them together for learning and community.... and the coaching cohort was born!

FAQ

Who should join this coaching cohort?

The Unicorn Coaching Cohort is designed for Chiefs of Staff and others in unique high-impact roles.  In addition to Chiefs of Staff, our past cohorts have included folks with titles like General Counsel, Chief Operating Officer, and VP of Special Projects.  Some are managers of people and teams, while some primarily manage complex projects and processes.  If the descriptor “unicorn in a unique high-impact role” resonates with you, it’s probably a great fit for you.

What is the monthly time commitment?

Each month, we’ll have 3 events:

Group Learning Session- 90 min (with 30-60 min of preparation work)

Think Tank- 60 min

Peer Coaching Session (opt in monthly and schedule on your own)- 60 min

In addition, most participants find they also spend 30-60 min per week communicating with other cohort members, engaging with recommended resources, and reflecting/journaling on their own.

What if I can’t make one of the sessions live?

We strongly encourage you to join everything live- so much of the magic comes from being in community with each other!  The whole-group portion of the monthly Group Learning Sessions will be recorded and the Zoom recording will be available for watching (or re-watching!) until the end of the month. The monthly Think Tanks will not be recorded, but high-level notes and resources will be shared afterwards.

How does the 1:1 executive coaching work?

During the program, you’ll have a 1:1 coaching session with Carmen and a 1:1 coaching session with Kelly.  One will happen mid-program (November/December) and one will happen at the close of the program (February/ March). You’ll schedule each of those sessions directly with your coach at a time that works for both of you.

What happens after I register?

You’ll receive a virtual welcome packet that includes a link to a pre-program survey, calendar invites to all virtual meetings, and directions for accessing the preparation work and other materials.

What if I need an accommodation or have a special request?

We are happy to provide any accommodations possible through Zoom (e.g., closed captioning), and will do our best to anything we canto enable you to fully participate. Feel free to reach out to us before you register to talk through any accommodation requests or concerns.

What if I can’t afford the $3000 program fee?

We are committed to accessibility, especially for BIPOC folks and people who plan to self-pay because their organization cannot sponsor the program cost. If this is you, reach out to Kelly or Carmen to request a discount.

Is the program fee refundable?

Due to the up-front nature of the cohort design and organization work, program fees are not refundable. In the case of a personal emergency or unexpected job transition, Carmen and Kelly will work with the participant to individualize support for them during the program window.

My organization's policies do not allow me to register and pay online. What should I do?

Email Kelly (kelly@littlebitescoaching) to request an invoice.

I still have questions. How do I decide if this is a good fit for me?

Reach out to Kelly ([email protected]) and/or Carmen ([email protected])- we’re happy to swap emails/voice memos or schedule a time to talk.
